Description
Our client is a prestigious boutique offshore legal firm with a strong international footprint across major financial hubs. They are looking for an experienced Litigation Associate to join their dedicated team in the BVI. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex, high-value contentious matters, including cross-border fraud, insolvency, and contentious trust and company disputes.
Key Responsibilities
• Case Management: Take principal responsibility for delegated cases, conduct legal research, draft opinions, and prepare comprehensive cases for court.
• Client Advisory: Liaise directly with clients to deliver high-quality, timely legal advice under partner supervision.
• Collaboration: Partner with international offices on multi-disciplinary, cross-border projects.
• Practice Management: Manage time recording, billing, and collections efficiently, while ensuring strict compliance with CDD and AML procedures.
• Business Development: Contribute to firm growth by identifying cross-selling opportunities, attending client events, and producing thought-leadership articles.
Key Requirements
• Experience: 3 to 5 years of post-qualification experience, ideally gained within a major international or regional law firm.
• Qualifications: Admitted in the BVI, or holding an unrestricted right to work in the jurisdiction. A willingness to pursue a Higher Rights Advocacy Qualification (HRAQ) is highly valued.
• Technical Skills: Strong drafting, legal research, and IT skills, with familiarity in document management systems and legal research platforms.
• Attributes: A methodical approach to complex files, strong organizational skills to manage strict deadlines, and a proactive, client-focused mindset.
