SEND Lunch Cover – SEMH & ASD
Carshalton, SM5 | 11:30am – 1:30pm

A specialist school in Carshalton is looking for a caring and reliable SEND Teaching Assistant to provide lunch cover for pupils with SEMH, ASD and complex additional needs, including non-verbal pupils.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone looking for flexible part-time work within a supportive specialist setting. Previous experience supporting pupils with SEND is desirable, but personal experience as a parent or carer can also be valuable.
What You’ll Be Doing
• Supporting pupils during lunchtime and unstructured periods
• Working with pupils with SEMH, ASD and complex needs
• Supporting non-verbal pupils with communication and interaction
• Helping pupils regulate their emotions and manage behaviour
• Encouraging positive social interaction and independence
• Supporting pupils to have a safe and positive lunchtime
• Assisting with personal care where required
• Monitoring pupils and responding to their individual needs
• Working alongside teachers and the wider support team
What We’re Looking For
• A caring, patient and reliable approach
• Experience working with SEND, SEMH or ASD is desirable
• Confidence supporting non-verbal pupils
• Calm and consistent when supporting emotional regulation
• Strong relationship-building skills
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Reliable and committed to pupil wellbeing
• A willingness to support pupils with a range of individual needs
