Axcis has an excellent opportunity available for a teaching assistant in the Hazel Grove area to work in a large mainstream secondary school providing general in-class support. This is a full time role working from 8:30 – 3:30 in an ongoing capacity beginning in March or sooner for the right candidate.
If successful, the candidate would be working with KS3 and KS4 classes, providing support for the teacher and assisting children with SEND requirements such as ADHD, SEMH or Autism. This is fantastic opportunity to join an established team of passionate staff who are firmly committed to the school’s mission of nurturing all children regardless of background and ability.
This school is large well-resourced mainstream secondary school with a diverse teaching staff. They provide a strong level of support to its staff with classes often having at least 1 TA to assist the teacher, sometimes more for classes with a large SEND provision. The school aims to provide cover internally so a successful candidate should expect to cover other TAs assignments on sickness or leave days. The school has a large car park onsite for staff use as well as good travel links for bus routes. The local train station is a 25 minute walk away from the site.
A successful candidate does not need any specific qualifications but experience of working with children in a school setting in the past 12 months is essential. Ideally candidates will have experience working with SEND children and have familiarity with ADHD, autism or SEMH needs or de-escalation techniques, though this is not a requirement. You will need to be adaptable, flexible and able to develop good relationships with the children you are working with.
Daily Rate: £90 per day (8.30-3.30)
