Company Details and Job Overview:

A successful SME in Carlisle are looking to appoint a new Management Accountant due to an internal promotion. With a current turnover in the region of £12m, the business is expecting to double in size over the next 2-3 years through entering new and emerging markets.

Alongside routine finance tasks, the new Management Accountant will have the opportunity to support with various upcoming projects including a new system implementation and enhancing the performance of existing processes within the finance function.

Your New Role as Management Accountant:

Reporting to the Financial Controller, as Management Accountant duties will include:

• Preparation of the management accounts pack including P&L, balance sheet, commentary and analysis
• Supporting the FC with budget preparation
• Supporting the FC with cash flow management and forecasting
• Supporting the FC with year end accounting requirements, liaising with external stakeholders such as auditors
• Overhead analysis and reporting
• Maintenance of the fixed asset register
• VAT return preparation
• Overseeing the work of the Accounts Assistants, providing support and mentorship as required to aid their development

Experience & Qualifications Required to Apply:

The ideal candidate will be actively studying or already qualified (CIMA/ACCA/ACA), with proven ability in a similar Management Accounting capacity. Strong Excel and analysis skills are imperative, and exposure to supporting system implementation/upgrades is advantageous. Additionally, good communication skills are required as you will be required to deliver financial insight and advice to a variety of non-finance stakeholders.
