Our client is an established telecommunications and technology provider delivering enterprise network and security services to business customers. The organisation supports a broad portfolio including LAN, WAN, WLAN, firewall and managed network solutions.
The Role
The Network Services Engineer will support the operational delivery of enterprise network and security services, working both on-site and remotely. The role acts as a first escalation point for network and security incidents and supports the monitoring, maintenance and implementation of customer solutions.
Participation in a retained on-call rota is required to support services 24x7x365.
Key Responsibilities
• Diagnose and resolve network and security incidents across managed customer environments
• Act as an escalation point, carrying out root cause analysis and coordinating with senior colleagues and vendors
• Deliver customer change requests in line with agreed change management processes
• Support and maintain operational tools, systems and monitoring platforms
• Assist with managed services delivery, documentation and service records
• Support project activity and datacentre operations when required
Skills and Experience
Essential
• Cisco CCNA or equivalent network certification, or the ability to achieve this within one year
• Some experience with IP routing and switching
• Strong problem-solving, communication and customer service skills
Highly Desirable
• Experience with Cisco, Meraki, Fortinet and Unifi/Ubiquiti technologies
• Managed service provider or operational network experience
• ITIL Foundation certification
A satisfactory Basic Police Disclosure is required due to the nature of the role.
