We are looking for a caring and experienced Learning Support Assistant to provide dedicated 1:1 support to a 5-year-old boy with Down Syndrome, Autism, epilepsy and a history of heart surgery.
The child is sensitive to noise and can experience sensory overload. Personal care duties include nappy changing.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver 1:1 support from 13:30 to 16:00
• Help manage sensory overload and noise sensitivity
• Assist with personal care, including nappy changing
• Support medical needs, including epilepsy awareness
• Complete brief observations and written reports after 16:00 (SENCO support provided)
Essential Requirements:
• Experience supporting children with SEN, particularly Autism and Down Syndrome
• Calm, patient and nurturing approach
• Understanding of sensory needs
• Willingness to carry out nappy changing
• Good observation and report-writing skills
• Reliability and flexibility
• Enhanced DBS check required
