Our client an international logistic forwarder based in Colnbrook require an operations/warehouse assistant
The Operations Assistant will be responsible for ensuring that all export material is manifested and shipped via the correct routing and/or agent and will be responsible for checking the weights and dimensions of all exports and completing the declarations to customs.
Duties:
• Working hours are Mon-Fri 12pm-9pm – Flexibility in shift/schedules when required. Overtime available on the weekends
• Respond to internal and external emails timely and in a professional manner using Outlook & Zoom
• Communicate with internal and global departments for queries, additional shipping document information needed and shipment related issues.
• Ensuring that all goods that are loaded or unloaded match the relevant paperwork.
• Booking flights with airlines/agents
• Administration duties
• Raising Export Customs Entries on CDS
• Customs software we use is Descartes
• Liaising & progress chasing with HMRC for amendments and statuses
• Manifesting and pre-alerting of flights
• Raising MAWBs
• Raising T1 documents for road shipments
• Warehouse duties, shipment accountability, bagging and labelling
• No heavy lifting, all shipments weigh less than 32Kgs
• Import SFD and FDE clearances knowledge would be beneficial
• T1/T2 clearances/discharges
• Temporary Admission clearances
• Importation & Exportation of ATA Carnet / Cites goods
• Supporting and coordinating Transport needs where required
• Forklift Licence desirable but not essential
• DG awareness desirable but not essential
• Driving Licence desirable but not essential
• Taking responsibility for the company’s freight and assets by reporting any suspicious activity at work
• Storing and replenishing stock according to established procedures
• Reporting any damaged or missing goods to Operations Manager
• Keeping the warehouse environment clean and tidy and maintaining equipment
• Following workplace health and safety rules when handling goods
• Ensuring efficient operations by adhering to operational procedures, rules, and schedules
Hours 12 noon to 9pm - Monday to Friday.
Salary 28K - 32K depending on experience - 28-day holidays including BH
3% pension contribution
