Kenton Black Finance are currently recruiting for a full-time and permanent Payroll Assistant on behalf of a business that is based in the Blackburn area. This manufacturing business prides itself on their heritage and well established customers. You will join a friendly team and ideally have a CIPP qualification (not essential). You will have at least two years of payroll experience and be able to manage the end to end process.
Your new Role as the Payroll Assistant:
- Manage the payroll function from instigation point through to final production and staff payment
- Preparing monthly payroll
- Setting up starters and leavers on the system and processing P45s and P46s
- Completing all statutory PAYE deductions including SSP, SMP, SPP, sickness and holiday pay
- Preparing wage slips and producing BACS payment reports for Finance Manager to approve
- Reconciling payroll at month end and preparing PAYE returns and payments for HMRC
- Managing any payroll queries that occur and ensuring all issues are fully investigated and resolved
Experience, Qualifications & Skills required to apply:
- Over two years experience of the full payroll process
- Ideally CIPP qualified, but this is not essential
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Organised and methodical
- Approachable and a good communicator
- A efficient user of payroll specific software
- Capable of using Excel to a basic/intermediate level
