Description

Kenton Black are delighted to be supporting a leading Tier 1 construction contractor in their search for an experienced Planner to join their expanding team in Dundee.

This is an excellent opportunity for a driven planning professional looking to advance their career within a well-established main contractor delivering a diverse portfolio of high-profile projects across the region. Working closely with project and operational teams, you will play a key role in developing, monitoring, and managing construction programmes to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and on schedule.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed tender and construction programmes using industry-standard planning software
- Monitor project progress, identifying delays, risks, and opportunities, and advising project teams accordingly
- Conduct regular site visits to gather accurate progress data and ensure alignment with programme milestones
- Prepare short-term and long-term planning schedules, ensuring realistic sequencing and resource allocation
- Produce progress reports, critical path analyses, and programme updates for senior stakeholders
- Support project teams with planning input during pre-construction, delivery, and handover stages
- Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure clear communication of programme requirements
- Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying efficiencies and best-practice planning methodologies

What You Bring
- Previous experience in a planning role within construction or civil engineering
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing, methodologies, and project delivery processes
- Proficiency with planning software such as Asta Powerproject or Primavera P6
- Ideally educated to degree level in construction, engineering, or a related discipline
- Excellent analytical, organisational, and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary project teams
- A proactive approach with strong problem-solving capability and attention to detail
- Flexibility to operate within a hybrid working model and attend sites as required
