This all-through special school caters to students aged 5-19 with a variety of complex needs, including profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), autism spectrum disorder (ASD), and medical needs such as epilepsy and cerebral palsy. Key Responsibilities:
Provide one-to-one and group support to students, meeting their individual learning and personal care needs.
Assist students with personal requirements, including feeding, dressing, and mobility support.
Work collaboratively with teaching staff to support a positive and engaging learning environment.
Utilise strategies to manage challenging behaviour and address sensory needs.
Follow individualised education plans (IEPs) to support academic and personal growth.
Requirements:
Previous experience working with SEND, particularly with PMLD, ASD, and medical needs, is highly desirable.
Understanding of sensory needs, ADHD, and behaviour management techniques.
Ability to provide personal care when needed, with a focus on dignity and respect for each student.
A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to supporting students with challenging behaviour.
