Salary: up to £105 a day
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Primary Teaching Assistant to join a busy mainstream primary school in Manchester. This role is focused on strong 1:1 support for pupils with a range of additional needs, including complex needs and some non-verbal students, within an ASC provision.
Key Requirements:
- Prior experience working with children in KS1 or KS2 is essential
- Knowledge and understanding of complex needs, autism spectrum conditions (ASC), and other additional needs
- Ability to provide firm, consistent support while maintaining empathy
- Experience supporting pupils who are non-verbal or have communication difficulties
- Ability to manage challenging behaviour professionally and calmly
Responsibilities:
- Deliver consistent 1:1 support tailored to pupils’ individual needs
- Work closely with teachers and SENCO to implement strategies and support learning
- Assist pupils with communication, social and emotional development
- Help maintain a positive and structured learning environment
- Monitor progress and provide feedback to teaching staff
