A highly regarded firm of Chartered Accountants in Bury St Edmunds is looking to strengthen its Private Client Tax team with the appointment of an experienced Assistant Manager. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Private Client Tax specialist to take the next step in their career, managing a varied portfolio of private clients including high net worth individuals, trusts, partnerships, and non-domiciled clients. You will play a key role in delivering high quality tax compliance and advisory services, working closely with Partners and Directors on complex tax planning matters, whilst also supporting and developing junior members of the team.

Responsibilities:

Manage a diverse portfolio of private clients, including HNWIs, trusts, and non-domiciled individuals
Review tax returns prepared by junior staff and ensure technical accuracy
Provide tax planning advice on capital gains, inheritance tax, and residency matters
Liaise directly with clients and HMRC on complex tax queries
Support the training and development of junior team members

Requirements:

ATT and/or CTA qualified, or qualified by experience
Must have previous experience working within a UK Practice environment
Strong technical knowledge of private client tax matters
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Proven ability to manage a portfolio and meet deadlines
