About the Role
We are currently seeking an experienced and driven Project Manager to join a growing team on construction projects in Brighton.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated Project Manager with a strong background in construction to take responsibility for the successful delivery of projects from inception through to completion. The successful candidate will oversee all aspects of project delivery, ensuring works are completed safely, on time, within budget and to the highest standards of quality.
The ideal candidate will have excellent leadership and communication skills, strong commercial awareness, and the ability to coordinate site teams, subcontractors and clients effectively.
Salary: £60,000–£70,000 per annum, dependent on experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage construction projects from initial planning through to completion and handover.
- Develop and maintain project programmes, ensuring key milestones and deadlines are achieved.
- Coordinate site managers, subcontractors, suppliers and other project stakeholders.
- Monitor project costs, budgets and resources to ensure projects remain commercially viable.
- Ensure all works are completed in accordance with specifications, drawings and relevant building regulations.
- Maintain high standards of health and safety across all project activities.
- Monitor progress on site, identifying potential risks, delays and challenges and implementing effective solutions.
- Liaise with clients, consultants, architects and design teams to ensure clear communication throughout the project lifecycle.
- Manage procurement, materials and subcontractor appointments where required.
- Conduct regular site visits, progress meetings and quality inspections.
- Prepare project reports, maintain accurate documentation and provide regular updates to senior management.
- Oversee project completion, snagging and handover to ensure client expectations are met.
Essential Requirements
- Proven experience working as a Project Manager within the construction industry.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, project delivery and site operations.
- Demonstrable experience managing project programmes, budgets and resources.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Strong commercial awareness and problem-solving abilities.
- Large scale commerical project experience
Excellent communication, organisational and time management skills.
- Good knowledge of construction health and safety legislation and industry regulations.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver projects to agreed deadlines.
- Relevant construction qualification or equivalent industry experience.
Desirable Qualifications
- SMSTS certification.
- CSCS card appropriate to the role.
- First Aid at Work qualification.
- Relevant qualification in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
