Description

Full-time | From £93 per day | Start: ASAP

Are you a psychology graduate looking to gain hands-on experience working with young people? If you’re considering a future career in educational psychology, clinical psychology, or mental health, this could be the perfect next step.

Axcis Education is working in partnership with a number of mainstream secondary schools and colleges in the Birmingham area, and we’re looking for full-time Graduate Learning Support Assistants to start ASAP.

In this role, you’ll be providing 1:1 support to students aged 15–18. Many of the young people you’ll work with have additional needs such as autism, ADHD, or social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) challenges. You’ll play a key role in helping them stay engaged in lessons, develop coping strategies, and build confidence in a structured school environment.

This is a highly rewarding opportunity to apply your knowledge of psychology in a real-world setting. You’ll gain valuable insight into behaviour, learning, and adolescent development while making a meaningful difference in a young person’s daily life.

You don’t need previous school experience. If you have any voluntary or professional experience supporting individuals with additional needs and, a genuine interest in mental health and behaviour then we’d love to hear from you.

We’re looking for someone who is empathetic, patient, and emotionally intelligent, with a strong interest in supporting young people through challenges. Reliability, resilience, and a proactive attitude are key.

Why this is a great first step in your psychology career:
• Apply your academic knowledge in a practical setting
• Ideal experience for careers in educational or clinical psychology, counselling, or youth work
• Work Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm – no unsociable hours
• Get paid weekly – £93 per day
• Free access to a wide range of training through the Axcis Academy
• Gain real, hands-on experience supporting adolescents with additional needs

These roles start ASAP and run full-time during term time, with the opportunity to become permanent after an initial settling-in period.

If you’re a psychology graduate ready to build meaningful experience and make a genuine difference in young people’s lives, we’d love to hear from you.

Apply today and start your journey with Axcis Education.
