This is an exciting opportunity to join a dedicated healthcare team providing quality residential nursing care in Guernsey.
Join this established care home and contribute to the delivery of high-quality, person-centred nursing care. This role offers the opportunity to lead by example, shape care standards, and support the ongoing development of clinical and support staff in a compassionate and professional environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care for residents.
• Lead, advise and mentor less experienced nursing and support staff.
• Ensure adherence to clinical standards and home policies, conducting audits and evaluations as required.
• Act as a key worker for designated residents, maintaining accurate care plans and documentation in accordance with NMC guidelines and local regulatory standards.
• Support quality assurance initiatives and participate in the development of training programmes for staff and students.
• Assist in clinical supervision, staff induction, and ongoing professional development activities.
• Regularly act as the nurse in charge, including night and day shifts, and deputise for the Home Manager when required.
• Supervise property safety, incident reporting, and emergency procedures in line with local health and safety regulations.
• Engage in performance reviews and contribute to a supportive and developmental work culture.
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will be a first-level registered nurse with at least two years of post-registration experience. A mentorship qualification or willingness to obtain one is desirable. Experience in a leadership or supervisory role within a care setting is highly advantageous, as is familiarity with clinical audits, policy development, and multidisciplinary communication. An understanding of the needs of elderly residents and a commitment to continuous improvement in care standards are essential.
