Our client is an established international insurance and wealth management business providing retirement, savings and employee benefit solutions to a global client base.
They are seeking an experienced and customer-focused Team Leader to join their Client Relationship Management function in Guernsey. The successful candidate will oversee the delivery of a high-quality service to a portfolio of Retirement & Savings clients while supporting, motivating and developing the wider team.
This is a varied position combining client relationship management, operational oversight and people leadership. It would suit someone who communicates confidently, manages competing priorities well and takes a practical approach to improving client outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead the team’s day-to-day workload, ensuring client requests are prioritised and completed efficiently.
• Support the management of a portfolio of Retirement & Savings clients.
• Build strong working relationships with clients, brokers and internal stakeholders.
• Respond to client enquiries accurately and within agreed service standards.
• Process administrative requests for corporate plans and individual policies.
• Anticipate client requirements and take a proactive approach to servicing their accounts.
• Work closely with operational teams and colleagues across different jurisdictions.
• Ensure client documentation remains accurate, complete and up to date.
• Coordinate Client Due Diligence documentation and respond to due diligence enquiries.
• Review and prepare client documentation for approval.
• Monitor outstanding fees and refer overdue accounts where appropriate.
• Promote the use of online client services.
• Encourage accountability within the team and support a customer-focused culture.
• Contribute to projects, system development and user testing when required.
• Maintain operational procedures and identify opportunities to improve efficiency.
• Support colleagues through business and operational change.
• Lead by example and help create a positive, professional and ethical working environment.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
• Previous experience delivering a high standard of client service.
• Strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.
• The ability to build trusted relationships with clients, brokers and colleagues.
• A well-organised approach and the ability to manage deadlines and competing priorities.
• A proactive mindset, with the confidence to use initiative and recommend process improvements.
• The flexibility to respond to changing client and business requirements.
• Intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Experience within insurance, particularly retirement or savings products, would be advantageous.
