Job Title: Science Teacher
Location: Tameside, Greater Manchester
Position Type: Full-Time
Salary: Competitive – Paid in line with the Main Pay Scale (MPS) / Upper Pay Scale (UPS), depending on experience
Start Date: September 2025 (or earlier if available)

Axcis is seeking a dynamic individual to teach Science up to Key Stage 4 across all ability levels. The school has a strong commitment to high-quality teaching, student achievement and professional development, with a welcoming staff team and a supportive leadership structure.


Key Responsibilities:
Deliver engaging and well-structured Science lessons across KS3 and KS4, covering Biology, Chemistry and Physics at a general level.

Plan, prepare and assess work in line with curriculum expectations, ensuring progress for all pupils.

Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters curiosity and enthusiasm for Science.

Contribute to departmental planning and school initiatives to enhance the Science curriculum.

Support the development of students’ practical skills and scientific thinking through hands-on activities and experiments.

Engage in ongoing CPD and professional development opportunities offered by the school.

Uphold the school’s behaviour and safeguarding policies, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all students.


Candidate Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

A degree in a relevant Science subject.

A strong understanding of the secondary Science curriculum (KS3–KS4).

Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to inspire young learners.

Strong communication and organisational skills.

A commitment to continuous improvement and inclusive education.

Willingness to work as part of a collaborative and supportive team.
