Axcis Education are supporting an independent SEND provision who are looking for a full time Science Tutor to work in an Independent Specialist Provision in the Newton Abbot area, delivering bespoke Science lessons (Biology GCSE) to a post 16 student with ASD and complex needs on a 1:1 basis. The working hours for this role are from 8.30 to 4:30, with pay rate ranging from £130-£145 a day, depending on previous experience. This is a permanent position (temp to perm).
The successful candidate will design and deliver personalised Science (Biology GCSE)lessons that meet the student’s individual learning needs, interests and aspirations. You will be part of a highly supportive team that works collaboratively to help every learner overcome barriers and achieve their potential.
Key Responsibilities
•Deliver engaging and tailored Biology lessons on a 1:1 basis.
•Support the educational and personal development of a post-16 student with ASD and complex needs.
•Work collaboratively with colleagues and therapists to provide a holistic learning experience.
•Create a positive, safe and inclusive learning environment.
Requirements
•Experience tutoring students or delivering interventions, ideally at secondary or college level.
•A passion for Science, in particular, biology.
•Experience working with vulnerable young people or learners with additional needs is desirable but not essential.
•A nurturing, patient and positive approach to building relationships with students.
