Are you passionate about supporting children with special educational needs? Do you have experience working with children on the autism spectrum – from mild to non-verbal pupils?

Axcis Education is currently recruiting a full-time Primary Teacher on behalf of a fantastic SEN primary school in Urmston. This is an agency position and would suit someone with a genuine interest in SEND, particularly autism, and strong behaviour management skills.

This is a term-time role, working Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 4:00pm.


About the Role:
This welcoming SEN primary school specialises in supporting children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The ideal candidate will be confident teaching a class of 10 children with a range of needs, including non-verbal communication and behaviours that may be challenging at times.

You’ll be supported by a strong team of teaching assistants and a leadership team that is passionate about inclusion, emotional regulation and child-centred approaches.


Key Details:
- Location: Urmston, Greater Manchester

- Role: SEN Primary Teacher (ASD provision)

- Hours: 8:30am – 4:00pm, Monday to Friday

- Contract: Term-time agency role

- Start date: ASAP

- Pay: Competitive daily rate, dependent on experience

What We're Looking For:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – welcome but not essential

- UK teaching experience is essential – this role requires familiarity with UK school systems

- Proven experience or a strong interest in working with children with autism (ASD)

- Comfortable supporting both verbal and non-verbal pupils

- Skilled in de-escalation strategies and managing challenging behaviour

- A calm, empathetic and flexible approach to teaching

- A DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one
