SEND Teacher – All Through Special School
Location: TW1
Hours: 8:30am – 4:00pm (Full Time) - Temp to perm
We are currently seeking a dedicated and resilient SEND Teacher to join a well-established all through special school in the TW1 area.
This provision supports pupils from primary through to secondary age with a range of complex needs, including:
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
Non-verbal communication needs
Complex Down’s Syndrome
SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health)
High needs and challenging behaviours
This is a highly rewarding but demanding role, requiring a confident practitioner who is experienced in managing complex presentations and delivering highly differentiated learning.
The Role:
Planning and delivering personalised, engaging lessons tailored to EHCP outcomes
Supporting non-verbal pupils using alternative communication strategies (PECS, Makaton, AAC)
Managing high needs and challenging behaviour in a structured, therapeutic manner
Working closely with TAs, therapists and the wider multidisciplinary team
Creating a safe, nurturing and highly structured learning environment
Monitoring progress and maintaining accurate records
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
QTS or equivalent recognised teaching qualification
Strong experience within a special school or specialist provision
Proven experience supporting pupils with ASD and complex needs
Confident behaviour management skills
A calm, patient and resilient approach
A genuine passion for SEND education
