Axcis are seeking a compassionate and creative SEND Teacher to join a well-regarded special provision in the borough of Havering. This setting caters to pupils across the primary age range with autism and associated communication needs. Based in a quiet residential area with excellent transport links and free parking, the school is proud of its warm, structured environment and strong sense of community.

With access to excellent resources, specialist staff, and a dedicated therapy team, this is a fantastic opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about inclusive education and making a meaningful difference.

In this role, you will:
• Deliver engaging, differentiated lessons for a small class of pupils with autism, supported by experienced TAs.
• Create structured and visual learning environments that support routine, communication and regulation.
• Plan and implement strategies in line with pupils’ EHCPs, liaising with therapists and the SENDCo.
• Use approaches such as TEACCH, PECS, Attention Autism and sensory integration.
• Foster a calm, positive classroom culture where pupils feel safe, valued, and ready to learn.

What we’re looking for:
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS or QTLS) with experience teaching pupils with autism.
• A strong understanding of SEND strategies and how to personalise the curriculum.
• Experience with low-verbal, non-verbal or sensory-sensitive learners.
• Excellent classroom management skills with a nurturing, patient, and creative outlook.

If you're a teacher who thrives in specialist settings and wants to be part of a passionate, forward-thinking team — we’d love to hear from you.
