• Start date: ASAP
• Monday - Friday (8:30am-3:30pm)
• Pay will be paid to scale
This class supports learners with high levels of need who communicate using a combination of visuals, Makaton and AAC devices. The pupils are a warm, engaging and rewarding group to work with, and thrive in a calm, structured and nurturing environment.
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate a high level of patience, resilience and understanding, as two pupils may display non-preferred behaviours at times. Experience working with complex needs and sensory learners is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities:
• Delivering engaging, sensory-based learning tailored to individual needs
• Supporting communication through visuals, Makaton and AAC
• Creating a safe, structured and positive learning environment
• Working collaboratively with support staff and wider professionals
Essential Skills & Experience:
• Qualified Teacher Status
• Due to quick turn around MUST have a Child & Adult DBS on the Update Service
• Experience or strong interest in SEND, particularly sensory and complex needs
• Calm, patient and empathetic approach
• Strong behaviour support and relationship-building skills
This is a highly rewarding opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about inclusive education and making a meaningful difference in the lives of young people with SEND.
Alternatively, if you know anyone who you think would be interested please do forward on.
