We are delighted to be supporting a fantastic SEND school in Street with their recruitment of a SEND teacher for their secondary phase.
About the school:
The school is a specialist school for students aged 11-19 years old. The school caters to pupils with a range of special educational needs and disabilities including profound and complex needs, severe learning difficulties and moderate learning difficulties. Focused on community and lifelong learning, the school work in partnership with parents and carers to equip young people with the skills to thrive throughout school and beyond.
About the role:
The successful candidate will be working closely with the leadership team to create an engaging, supportive, and aspirational environment for each student. Each day will be different in this dynamic setting, however day to day you can expect to undertake the following:
- collaborate with teaching assistants, therapists and SEND co-ordinators to ensure effective classroom support.
- support the emotional regulation and social skills development of each pupil.
- use positive behaviour strategies and de-escalation techniques.
- attend staff meetings, training, and professional development sessions.
- maintain accurate records of student progress, behaviour and interventions.
- communicate with parents and carers, ensuring partnerships are maintained and developed.
- design and lead engaging, differentiated lessons that meet curriculum goals and the needs of each pupil.
The ideal candidate:

- holds QTS (or equivalent).
- has experience with SEND/SEMH.
- is creative, flexible and passionate in their work.

Key details:
Location: Street
Hours: 8.15am – 3.30pm, Mon-Fri
Salary: £100 - £130 per day depending on experience.
Contract Type: Full-time with potential for permanent placement for the right candidate.
