Description
Axcis are working closely with an mainstream primary school in the Shirley area of Solihull. The school has a support staff vacancy for a teaching assistant with experience of working with children with ASD and ADHD. The role is based in the school's year 5 class, working on a 1 to 1 basis with an autistic pupil who also has a diagnosis of ADHD. Due to their additional needs the child is currently working at a Key Stage 1 level.
Type of SEND support experience required:
- Complex Autism
- Distressing/challenging behaviour towards themselves and the environment (not adults or other children)
- Sensory challenges
- Delayed communication needs
This is a full-time role on an ongoing basis starting ASAP, initially going through to July 2026, the school is looking for the successful candidate to start as soon as possible. This is a great opportunity for a teaching assistant looking for a school with a strong community spirit.

• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service required or we’re happy to carry out a new one ahead of you starting the position – Essential
