SEND Teaching Assistant – Autism & Communication Support – Nuneaton
Location: Nuneaton, Warwickshire
Contract Type: Full-time
Salary: £89 – £105 per day / £445 – £525 per week
We are recruiting for a SEND Teaching Assistant to support a KS1 pupil in Nuneaton with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC). The pupil has sensory needs, communication difficulties and requires a structured, consistent approach.
The Role:
You will:
• Provide 1:1 support to a KS1 child with autism.
• Implement visual supports, sensory strategies and clear routines.
• Encourage communication and social interaction with peers.
• Support transitions and reduce anxiety triggers.
• Work with the SENCO and parents to review progress.
About You:
• Experience supporting children with autism or communication difficulties.
• Knowledge of PECS, Makaton, or visual supports (advantageous).
• Patient, calm and adaptable.
• Enthusiastic about supporting inclusion and progress.
