Axcis is on the search for an experienced SEND teaching assistant, a teaching assistant with experience of working in school and supporting young children with high SEND needs.
The role is based within the resource hub of a 2-form entry primary school in the Saltley area. in the role the successful applicant will be supporting children aged 4-7 years with varying SEND needs within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum. This is a full-time role on an ongoing basis, the school is looking for the successful candidate to start in September 2025. This is a great opportunity for a teaching assistant looking for a school with a strong community spirit, this role will last for at least the whole of the 2025/26 academic year.
Job details:
• Supporting pupils with SEND needs
• Supporting children develop through the EYFS
• Working on a one to one and small group basis within a resource hub class of 4-7 year olds
• Working alongside the class teacher and other teaching assistants
• Full time (8:30am – 3:30pm, Monday to Friday)
• Ongoing basis starting ASAP; going through to the end of the academic year and picking up again in September
Requirements
• Experience of working with individuals with SEND needs – Essential
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or we’re able to carry out a new one ahead of you starting the position – Essential
• Minimum of 2 good references – Essential
• Experience of working within the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework - Desirable
