SEND Teaching Assistant – ASC & SLD – Primary School – Rugby
Location: Rugby
Contract Type: Full-time
Salary: £89 – £105 per day / £445 – £525 per week
Axcis Education is delighted to support a friendly mainstream primary school in Rugby that is seeking a passionate SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils with autism (ASC) and severe learning difficulties (SLD).
This full-time position is ideal for someone who understands the importance of a structured, calm and supportive classroom environment for students with complex needs.
The Role:
You will:
• Work 1:1 with children who require additional help accessing the curriculum.
• Use structured resources and communication tools (visual schedules, Makaton, etc.).
• Support the delivery of differentiated learning activities.
• Foster confidence, routine and emotional well-being in pupils.
• Liaise with teachers, SENCO, and outside professionals as needed.
About You:
• Experience working with ASC or SLD, particularly in primary or early years.
• Calm, flexible and resilient.
• Comfortable with personal care and physical interventions (if required).
• A background in support work, youth work or SEND education is ideal.
• Team Teach or similar training would be advantageous.
