Position Type: Full-time (Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm)
Pay: From £93 per day (£14.25 an hour)
We are currently recruiting for a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and inclusive school in Preston (PR1) with an immediate start available.
This is a full-time role supporting pupils with a range of special educational needs, including ASD, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional, and mental health needs.
The school is committed to providing a nurturing environment where every child is supported to achieve their full potential.
The Role:
• Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN
• Work closely with the class teacher to adapt learning materials and activities
• Support the implementation of EHCPs and Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
• Encourage positive behaviour and emotional regulation
• Promote pupils’ independence, confidence, and engagement in learning
• Collaborate effectively with teachers, SENCOs, and support staff
Requirements:
• Previous experience supporting children/adults with SEN (preferred)
• Experience working within a school setting is desirable but not essential
• A patient, proactive, and resilient attitude
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• A genuine passion for working with children
• An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
