Contract Type: Full-time, 8:45 AM – 4:45 PM (Monday to Friday)
About the Role:
We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with Autism at a welcoming primary school in Clapham Junction. This role is ideal for someone passionate about helping children with additional needs thrive academically and personally.
You'll be working within a supportive team in a school known for its nurturing environment and thoughtfully designed sensory-friendly spaces that promote calm and focus.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide tailored 1:1 support to a primary-aged pupil with Autism.
• Collaborate with class teachers and SEN staff to deliver effective support plans.
• Support emotional regulation, sensory needs, and classroom engagement.
• Assist with personal care, manual handling, and feeding (where necessary)
• Help maintain a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
Skills and Experience Required:
• Previous experience working with SEND students, particularly those with Autism.
• Patient, empathetic, and committed to supporting student development.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Flexible and proactive approach to classroom and care support
• Enhanced child & Adult DBS (or Willingness to apply and pay for a new one)
