Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistants – September 2025 Start
Location: Stockport & Tameside, Greater Manchester
Job Type: Full-Time, Part-Time, Day-to-Day Supply, Long-Term
Start Date: September 2025
Salary: £85–£95 per day (dependent on experience and assignment type)
Axcis is working with local primary schools in Stockport and Tameside who are seeking to appoint Teaching Assistants who are passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)? If you have recent experience working in a school setting or supporting children with additional needs in another capacity?
The schools Axcis is working with are actively recruiting SEND Teaching Assistants to work in local primary schools across Stockport and Tameside for the new academic year starting September 2025.
Ideal candidates must have had experience with working with children or adults with the following needs:
- Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
- ADHD
- Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH)
- Speech and Language Difficulties
- Downs Syndrome
- Moderate to Severe Learning Difficulties (MLD/SLD)
- Non-verbal communication
- Complex Needs and Personal Care
Roles Available:

- 1:1 support for pupils with EHCPs
- General classroom support
- Small group interventions
- SEN-focused units and resourced provisions
- Part-time and flexible day-to-day supply work
