Our client is a highly respected, well-established fiduciary and corporate services provider with a strong reputation for delivering bespoke wealth management solutions. They are seeking a qualified Senior Accountant to join their Guernsey office. This permanent position reports directly to the Head of Client Accounting and offers an excellent environment for a professional looking to manage complex portfolios and guide junior staff.
The Role
The successful candidate will oversee the preparation and review of financial statements and manage tax compliance for a diverse portfolio of trust and corporate structures.
Key responsibilities include:
• Preparing and reviewing financial statements, quarterly net asset reports, and loan interest certificates.
• Assisting with the coordination and supervision of external audits to ensure adherence to GFSC regulations, IFRS, and UK GAAP (FRS 102).
• Supervising, mentoring, and managing the performance of junior team members.
• Assisting with Guernsey and UK tax compliance, including VAT returns, FATCA, CRS, and Economic Substance filings.
• Identifying and resolving accounting queries, standardizing financial policies, and deploying digital tools to improve efficiency.
The Candidate
They are looking for an organized professional with the following qualifications and skills:
• ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualification.
• A minimum of 5 years of practical experience within the trust and fiduciary sector.
• Strong knowledge of client accounting principles, IFRS, and GAAP.
• Excellent analytical abilities, high attention to detail, and strong communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
