Description
We are partnering with an international Workday customer to recruit a Senior Workday Specialist to join their established and collaborative HRIS team. This is a key role for someone who enjoys being the go-to expert, combining technical ownership, end-to-end implementations, continuous improvement, and long-term platform evolution across a complex international environment.
This position offers a hybrid working model in Hoofddorp with a competitive salary of up to €85,000 depending on experience.
You will gain broad functional and technical exposure, long-term career progression, and the opportunity to play a central role in shaping the future direction of a global Workday landscape.
Reporting directly to the HRIS Manager, you will act as a senior subject matter expert across Workday, supporting both day-to-day operations and strategic initiatives. Working closely with global stakeholders, external partners and wider HR technology teams, you will help ensure the Workday platform remains scalable, stable and aligned to business needs.
The organisation operates within a large, operationally complex environment where workforce management, scheduling, and labour compliance are business-critical. As such, you will play an important role in supporting and optimising solutions for a large and diverse international workforce.
Key Requirements
• Strong hands-on Workday experience at a senior level, ideally gained within an internal HRIS environment.
• Solid Workday HCM experience is essential. Experience with Time Tracking and/or Absence would be a significant advantage, particularly given the organisation’s focus on scheduling, workforce management, and labour compliance across a large operational workforce.
• Experience supporting Workday implementations, major enhancements, transformations, or post-go-live optimisation activities.
• Ability to provide hands-on configuration expertise whilst contributing to broader HRIS, integration, and platform design discussions.
• Experience partnering with HR, IT, external vendors, and business stakeholders to deliver effective HR technology solutions.
• Comfortable acting as an escalation point for complex Workday issues and supporting less experienced team members.
• Experience supporting large operational, retail, hospitality, leisure, logistics, or other frontline workforce environments would be highly beneficial.
• Exposure to integrations, payroll, security, governance, or wider HR technology ecosystems is advantageous.
• Strong communication skills, commercial awareness, and a proactive, solution-oriented mindset.
• Fluent English is essential.
This is an excellent opportunity for a senior Workday professional who enjoys ownership, complexity, and impact within a global organisation, whilst helping shape the future direction of an evolving HR technology landscape.
