**Job Title:** Special Needs Teaching Assistant (Experienced)

**Location:** Rochdale, Lancashire

**Pay Rate:** £90 per day

**Contract Type:** Full-time only, 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM

**About the Role:**
We are looking for a dedicated and passionate Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join a team committed to providing high-quality support to young people with a range of special educational needs and disabilities in the Rochdale, Lancashire area. The successful candidate will be part of a nurturing environment that empowers students with Autism and other physical disabilities to achieve their full potential.

**Responsibilities:**

- Support the educational development and emotional well-being of students with high-level needs, including those with non-verbal Autism.
- Work closely with the teaching staff to implement individualized learning plans and strategies to engage and motivate students.
- Use a variety of communication methods to ensure understanding and engagement of students with complex communication needs.
- Assist with personalized care needs of students, including those that require manual handling, while promoting independence.
- Employ behavior management techniques, and where necessary, utilize certified Team Teach strategies to ensure a safe and supportive environment for all.
- Facilitate inclusive education by promoting social interaction and participation in classroom activities.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to review and assess the progress of students, adjusting support as needed.

**Requirements:**

- Must possess a current DBS on the update service.
- Proven experience working with young people with high-level needs.
- Experience working with non-verbal Autism is preferred but not essential.
- Excellent verbal communication skills are essential for the role.
- Resilience and the ability to adapt to the varying demands of the job.
- Team Teach and manual handling certificates would be advantageous.
- A commitment to the principles of equality, diversity, and inclusion.
