Hours: 30 per week, term time only (38 weeks)
Reports to: Inclusion Manager
Location: Isleworth, with some work at Feltham
The Student Support Assistant plays a key role in helping learners with additional needs succeed in the classroom and beyond. Working under the Inclusion Manager, they provide one-to-one and small group support, encourage independence, and promote positive behaviour. The role may also involve supporting students with challenging behaviour, pastoral care, and accompanying groups on trips or events.
Key Responsibilities:
Support students in lessons across a range of subjects and levels
Encourage participation, independence, and positive interaction with others
Keep records of progress, attendance, and support given
Reinforce learning and provide mentoring where required
Supervise students outside of lessons when necessary
Contribute to planning, adapted resources, and target-setting
Support students with employability and confidence-building
Person Requirements:
Level 2 English and Maths (or willingness to achieve)
Relevant support qualification or willingness to train
IT skills (Word, Outlook, internet)
Experience supporting young people with additional needs or disabilities
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Understanding of safeguarding, equality, and inclusion
Willingness to undertake training and development
