Axcis Education is proud to be working with a large, well-established SEND school in St Helens that supports pupils aged 4–14 with a diverse range of needs, including Autism (ASD), ADHD, SEMH, Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, and complex medical and learning needs.

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join the school on a full-time, long-term basis from late June or July 2026. This is an excellent opportunity to establish strong relationships with pupils and staff ahead of the new academic year, providing consistent support that helps children thrive both academically and personally.

The Role

As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Provide dedicated, individualised support to a pupil throughout the school day
• Help pupils access learning both in the classroom and across the wider school environment
• Support personalised learning programmes developed by teachers and specialist staff
• Encourage communication, emotional regulation, independence, and positive engagement
• Adapt activities and learning approaches to meet individual needs
• Work closely with teachers, therapists, and support staff to ensure the best outcomes for pupils

• Have previous experience working with children or vulnerable individuals (desirable but not essential)
