Teaching Assistant (SEND) – Primary Schools in Stockport
Start Date: January 2026
Location: Stockport, Greater Manchester
Contract: Full-time, Long-term (with potential for permanent role)
Pay Rate: £90–£100 per day (depending on experience and qualifications)

About the Role

We are looking for dedicated, compassionate, and proactive SEND Teaching Assistants to join a number of welcoming and supportive primary schools across Stockport from January 2026. These roles are ideal for individuals with a passion for supporting children with special educational needs and disabilities, ensuring they have every opportunity to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

You will work across mainstream classrooms and Resource Base provisions, supporting pupils with a range of needs including Autism, ADHD, learning difficulties, communication needs, SEMH, and physical/medical needs. This is a rewarding position where you will play a key role in helping pupils access learning and achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

The main duties of this role will involve:
• Supporting children in lessons across the primary age range, ensuring they are fully engaged and accessing the curriculum.
• Providing support with medical needs where required, following training and school protocols.
• Promoting and nurturing pupils’ social and emotional well-being, helping to create a safe and positive learning environment.
• Supporting pupils with EHCPs and SEND Support Plans, delivering tailored interventions and adapting learning activities based on individual needs.
• Working across both mainstream classes and the school’s Resource Base, supporting children with complex needs.
• Collaborating closely with teaching staff, the Inclusion Manager, and external professionals, such as Speech and Language Therapists or Educational Psychologists.
• Implementing and evaluating agreed work programmes, using your initiative under the guidance of senior staff to deliver high-quality support.
• Helping with behaviour regulation and developing pupils’ independence and life skills.
Building positive, trusting relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues.
