Salary: Day rate from £83.40 depending on experience
Are you a passionate and dedicated teaching assistant looking to make a real difference in the lives of children with SEND needs?
We are currently seeking a compassionate and resilient teaching assistant to join Axcis Education working in a high school. This role involves working closely with pupils who have a range of special educational needs, including those PMLD.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide 1:1 and small group support to children with SEND
• Assist with classroom learning and development under the direction of the class teacher
• Support pupils with PMLD, including communication, sensory activities, and mobility
• Be comfortable and competent with providing personal care, including toileting and feeding
• Help create an inclusive, nurturing and safe learning environment
• Work collaboratively with the SENCO, teachers, therapists, and parents
Requirements:
• Previous experience working with SEND children, ideally including PMLD
• Comfortable with all aspects of personal care
• A patient, empathetic, and enthusiastic attitude
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• A valid DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one
• Relevant training (e.g., Manual Handling, Safeguarding, PECS, Makaton) is desirable but not essential
