A friendly and inclusive primary school in the L28 area is looking to appoint an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join their team for the September 2026 academic year. Whether you're an experienced Teaching Assistant or have transferable experience working with children, this role offers the chance to make a real difference from the very first day of term.
The Role
Working alongside class teachers and the wider school team, you will help pupils develop academically, socially and emotionally, ensuring they feel supported and confident throughout their school day.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Supporting the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons
• Providing 1:1 and small-group support for pupils who need additional guidance
• Encouraging confidence, independence and active participation in learning
• Assisting with classroom preparation, learning resources and daily activities
• Supporting pupils' social, emotional and personal development
• Helping to create a safe, positive and nurturing learning environment
• Working collaboratively with teachers, parents and the wider school team to promote positive outcomes for every child
What We're Looking For
We're keen to hear from candidates who:
• Have experience working with children in a school, nursery, childcare, youth work or similar setting (desirable but not essential)
• Are caring, patient and passionate about supporting young learners
• Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Are proactive, adaptable and able to use their own initiative
• Enjoy working as part of a collaborative team
• Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or are willing to apply for one (full support provided)
