Job Title: Teaching Assistant
Location: Axminster
Setting: Primary School
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm
Pay: £14.25 – £15.50 per hour PAYE
Axcis Education is looking for a warm, enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in the Axminster area. This Teaching Assistant opportunity would suit someone who enjoys being part of a close-knit school environment and wants to play an active role in children's day-to-day education. The successful Teaching Assistant will work alongside classroom teachers to help pupils stay engaged, understand their learning and develop the skills they need to become confident and independent learners.
What the Teaching Assistant will do:
- Support pupils during lessons, activities and throughout the school day
- Work with individuals and small groups to reinforce learning
- Assist teachers with classroom preparation and educational activities
- Help pupils develop confidence, independence and positive learning habits
- Provide additional support for children who require extra help with their education
- Encourage pupils to participate fully and take pride in their achievements
- Build positive relationships with children and help create a welcoming classroom
- Support the school's high expectations for learning, behaviour and personal development
What we're looking for in a Teaching Assistant:
- Experience working with children is desirable
- A caring, patient and encouraging personality
- Someone who can build positive relationships with pupils
- Good communication and teamwork skills
