SEN Teaching Assistant – Primary School

Location: L30 Area
Start Date: September 2026
Hours: Full-Time | Monday to Friday | 8:30am – 3:30pm

Are you passionate about helping children with additional needs reach their full potential?

A welcoming and inclusive primary school in the L30 area is seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2026. This is an excellent opportunity to support pupils across EYFS through to Key Stage 2, working with children who have a range of additional needs, including autism, speech and language difficulties, sensory processing needs, and social, emotional and communication challenges.

The Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you'll play a vital role in creating a positive and nurturing learning environment where every child feels supported to succeed. Working closely with class teachers and the SEN team, you'll help pupils develop academically, socially and emotionally, celebrating every achievement along the way.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing tailored 1:1 and small-group support to meet individual learning needs
• Supporting pupils with communication, emotional regulation and classroom activities
• Encouraging independence, confidence and positive social interaction
• Assisting with the implementation of individual learning plans and behaviour strategies
• Working collaboratively with teachers, the SENCO and external professionals to ensure the best outcomes for pupils

What We're Looking For

We're looking for candidates who:

• Have experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs, either in education, childcare or care settings
• Are confident working with primary-aged pupils across EYFS to Key Stage 2
• Are patient, resilient and adaptable, with a calm and positive approach
• Hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or are happy to apply for one (support provided)
• Are passionate about inclusive education and committed to helping every child achieve their potential
