Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm
Pay: £14.25 – £14.50 per hour

Axcis Education is working with a supportive middle school in Minehead to recruit a committed Teaching Assistant for a long-term, full-time role. The position involves working closely with pupils who have a range of academic, behavioural, and emotional needs, supporting them to engage successfully in their learning and school life.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with young people and is keen to make a meaningful impact during a key stage of their education.

Key responsibilities:
• Support pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups across the middle school setting
• Help learners access lessons and activities across the curriculum
• Provide support for pupils with behavioural and emotional needs, encouraging positive engagement
• Assist in implementing strategies to promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation
• Adapt learning materials and approaches to suit individual needs
• Work alongside teaching and pastoral staff to support progress and wellbeing
• Contribute to a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment

The ideal candidate will:
• Be patient, resilient, and flexible in their approach
• Have experience working with children or young people (school experience desirable)
• Be confident supporting pupils with additional behavioural and emotional needs
• Build positive and supportive relationships with pupils and staff
• Communicate effectively and work well as part of a team
