Teaching Assistant
Location: Bristol
Salary: £14.25 per hour
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 3:30pm
Start: ASAP
Contract: Permanent after an initial 16-week settling-in period
Are you looking for a rewarding Teaching Assistant role where you can make a genuine difference to the lives of children?
We are looking for a caring, patient and positive Teaching Assistant in Bristol to support primary aged pupils with SEMH, autism and learning disabilities.
You do not need previous school experience. We are more interested in your personality, values and motivation to help children learn, grow in confidence and enjoy school.
This could be a great opportunity for a graduate, youth worker, sports coach, support worker, aspiring teacher or experienced Teaching Assistant looking for meaningful work with vulnerable young people.
You will build positive relationships with pupils, support their learning and development, encourage independence and help create a calm and inclusive classroom environment. Every day will be different, so patience, resilience, empathy and a good sense of humour will be important.
The school is a large primary setting in Bristol serving children aged 5 to 11. Its approach focuses on providing a happy, caring and stimulating environment, with equality of opportunity and a curriculum designed to meet different needs. The school also places a strong emphasis on positive relationships, independence and being part of the local community.
Its most recent Ofsted inspection, published in May 2024, judged the school Good for quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development, leadership and management, and early years provision.
If you are someone who wants to make a real difference and help children overcome barriers to learning, we would love to hear from you.
