Pay: £14.25 – £15.50 per hour PAYE

Axcis Education is recruiting for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a secondary school in Yeovil. This full-time Teaching Assistant role involves supporting students with their academic, social and personal development, including pupils with SEND and autism.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside teachers to help students access the curriculum, engage with lessons and build confidence and independence. You will provide additional support to students with autism, adapting your approach to meet individual communication, learning and sensory needs.

Teaching Assistant Responsibilities:

- Supporting students one-to-one and in small groups
- Helping students with autism access learning and school routines
- Supporting pupils with SEND and additional learning needs
- Assisting with classroom tasks and curriculum activities
- Encouraging confidence, independence and positive behaviour
- Helping students develop communication and social skills
- Working closely with teachers and pastoral staff
- Creating a positive, inclusive and supportive classroom environment

The Ideal Teaching Assistant:

- Has experience working with children or young people, ideally within SEND or autism
- Is patient, calm, adaptable and supportive
- Can build positive relationships with students
- Has strong communication and teamwork skills
- Is passionate about helping young people achieve their potential
