Teaching Assistant
• Location: Salisbury
• Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm
• Pay: £90–£95 per day (PAYE)
Axcis Education is seeking a caring and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a primary-aged pupil with Autism Spectrum Condition in a friendly and inclusive mainstream primary school in Salisbury. This Teaching Assistant role is a full-time opportunity, ideal for someone looking to make a meaningful impact while gaining valuable SEND experience.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will support the pupil throughout the school day, helping them to access learning, follow routines, and develop communication and social skills. You will work closely with the class teacher and SENDCo to implement personalised strategies, adapt activities, and provide reassurance during transitions or challenging moments. A calm, consistent, and nurturing approach will be key to helping the pupil feel safe, confident, and ready to learn.
Key responsibilities include:
• Providing consistent 1:1 support for a pupil with ASC
• Supporting learning, emotional regulation, and positive behaviour
• Encouraging independence and inclusion within the classroom
• Working collaboratively with school staff and following support plans
The ideal candidate will be:
• Patient, reliable, and compassionate
• Experienced with ASC or keen to develop SEND skills
• Confident building strong, trusting relationships
