Teaching Assistant
Location: Andover
Pay: £90–£95 per day (PAYE)
Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm, Monday to Friday
We are supporting a welcoming SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) specialist school in Andover in their search for a compassionate and reliable Teaching Assistant. The school provides a nurturing, structured environment where pupils feel safe, supported, and able to thrive.
In this role, you will work closely with pupils with a variety of SEMH needs, helping them to engage with learning, manage their emotions, and develop key social and life skills. You will be expected to demonstrate strong behaviour management, maintain a calm and consistent approach, and collaborate effectively with the wider school team.
Responsibilities:
• Provide tailored support to pupils throughout the school.
• Work alongside teachers and support staff to deliver engaging and accessible learning activities.
• Encourage independence, confidence, and emotional regulation in pupils.
• Take part in training sessions focused on SEMH best practice and behaviour support.
We are looking for a Teaching Assistant who:
• Has experience with children or young people with SEMH needs, either personally or professionally (essential).
• Is patient, adaptable, and proactive.
• Communicates effectively and builds positive relationships with pupils and staff.
• Is passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of young people.
