Job Title: Teaching Assistant
Location: Frome, Somerset
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 3:30 pm
Pay: £90 - £95

Are you passionate about supporting children with special educational needs and disabilities? Do you thrive in a varied and rewarding educational setting? We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant for an all-through SEND school in the lovely town of Frome, Somerset.

As a Teaching Assistant, you'll be instrumental in providing classroom support to a diverse group of students with a range of special educational needs. You'll be working alongside a committed team of professionals, including classroom teachers and support staff, to create an inclusive, stimulating, and secure learning environment.

Responsibilities:

- Assist the lead teacher in planning and delivering effective learning activities.
- Support individual students or small groups both inside and outside the classroom to help them engage in lessons and achieve their potential.
- Prepare and maintain a safe and orderly environment conducive to learning.
- Monitor student progress and help assess their development, providing feedback to teachers as necessary.
- Aid students with specific needs, including adapting materials and exercises for their learning styles.
- Facilitate communication between students and staff, contributing to a constructive dialogue around student needs.
- Assist with implementing Individual Education Plans and managing any necessary accommodations for students.
- Provide personal care or medical support as needed, following appropriate training and procedures.

Requirements:

- Professional or personal experience with SEND is highly desired.
- A patient, caring, and compassionate approach to student interaction.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- An Enhanced DBS check (can be obtained through the agency).
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
