Description:
Axcis are working with a mainstream primary school in Newham with a well-established SEND autism base, seeking a SEND teaching assistant to support pupils with autism and communication needs.
Pupils are taught in small groups with high staff-to-pupil ratios. The school has an inclusive ethos, structured routines and strong support from specialist teachers and therapists.
This is an excellent role for someone with experience supporting autism or who is keen to develop specialist send experience in a nurturing environment.
Key responsibilities:
• Supporting pupils with autism and send needs
• Working within a structured resource base
• Supporting communication and sensory regulation
• Following EHCP targets and support plans
• Working closely with teachers and therapists
Ideal candidate:
• Experience supporting autism or send needs
• Patient, calm and consistent approach
• Confident supporting primary-aged pupils
• Full-time availability
