Working alongside experienced teachers and support staff, your responsibilities will include:

• Providing individual and small-group support to primary-aged pupils with SEMH needs.
• Building positive, trusting relationships with children to create a safe and supportive learning environment.
• Supporting pupils with emotional regulation, social communication and developing positive relationships with others.
• Encouraging children to re-engage with learning and participate in classroom activities.
• Supporting positive behaviour through a nurturing, patient and understanding approach.
• Helping pupils develop confidence, resilience, independence and self-esteem.
• Recognising that behaviour can be a form of communication and responding with empathy and consistency.
• Supporting pupils with their academic, emotional and social development.
• Working collaboratively with teachers and other professionals to provide consistent support.

• Has experience supporting children with SEMH, behavioural or additional learning needs.
• Understands the importance of patience, empathy and consistency when working with vulnerable children.
• Can build strong, positive relationships with children who may struggle with trust, emotional regulation or engagement.
• Is confident supporting challenging behaviour in a calm and positive manner.
• Has a nurturing, approachable and resilient personality.
• Is passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning and reach their potential.
• Can work effectively as part of a wider teaching and support team.

Personal or professional SEMH experience will be considered. You may have worked in a school, specialist provision, residential setting, youth work or care environment. Equally, relevant personal experience supporting children with emotional, behavioural or additional needs could be valuable.

What We Offer

• Competitive PAYE pay of £14.61–£15.00 per hour.
• Monday to Friday working pattern.
• Consistent hours of 8:30am – 3:15pm.
