Are you passionate about helping young people (16-21) with moderate learning difficulties (MLD) and mental health needs? Do you want a role that is meaningful, rewarding and truly makes a difference in your community? This could be the role for you.

About the role
You’ll join a specialist post-16 provision in Gloucester (part of a well-regarded further education college) working full time, 8:30am-4:30pm, five days a week. You will support learners with MLD and mental health challenges to access lessons, develop independence, build confidence and thrive in a safe, nurturing environment.

Why join us?
• You’ll work in a new SEND facility with purpose-built spaces including a sensory room, interactive learning areas and social/creative zones.
• The college’s most recent Ofsted inspection rated it “Good” overall, with strong praise for support and student attitudes.
• Working in this environment means collaborating with a committed team who put each student’s needs at the heart of everything.

Who we’re looking for
We care more about who you are than what you have done. You might be a graduate, a youth worker, a sports coach, a support worker or someone who has worked as a teaching assistant. What matters most is your empathy, patience, respect, positivity and willingness to learn.

You should:
• Be reliable, caring and calm under pressure
• Enjoy working with young people facing emotional, behavioural or learning challenges
• Be able to build trusting relationships and collaborate as part of a team
• Want to grow in this role and help shape a positive, inclusive learning culture
