Axcis are looking for a youth worker for a role within a Liverpool based specialist provision.
The school itself caters for KS3 / 4 students that have additional needs and challenging behaviours including; autism, ADHD, ODD, learning difficulties and SEMH needs. The pupils who attend this school can no longer remain in mainstream education and often require 1:1 support or extra assistance during lessons. This would be a full time, long term position with a high potential for a permanent role for the right candidate.
The school is smaller than average and currently has around 60 pupils on roll. All of the students require 1:1 support and the school are looking for a candidate with experience supporting people that have additional needs or challenging behaviours.
The role will start as soon as possible on a long term basis. The school hours are 8.30am – 4.00pm Monday – Friday with a 30 minute lunch break. The role will require the candidate to have strong behaviour management skills as well as being caring, compassionate and resilient. The candidate must have some experience within childcare, ideally youth work and ideally, have an understanding or experience working with children on the autism spectrum, or those with SEMH difficulties and challenging behaviours.
